Roofing Frequently Asked Questions

If there’s something you’re looking to learn more about, check out our roofing FAQs or contact us for more detailed answers!

There are many different types of roof styles, colors, and materials to consider when it’s time to replace yours. We offer options, such as asphalt shingles, flat roofs, metal roofing, wood shakes, slate, tile, and composite. Each material has its own set of benefits, expenses, and expertise required to install properly.

We at Ashton McGee Restoration Group have decades of experience in not only installing these types of roofs, but also assisting our clients in determining what selections they should make that will be the best for their home.

Many things factor into the price of roof replacement – the size of the roof, the pitch of the roof, what type of roof, how many layers there are, among other factors. We proudly offer a free estimate provided by one of our roofing experts because we believe in and value transparency so that, at the end of the day, you are comfortable and proud to be working with Ashton McGee Restoration Group.

We recommend reserving most roof work for the professionals. Doing this not only ensures your roof replacement will be installed properly, but also that it will be done safely and keep you and your family safe in the process. Installing new roofing materials without a professional roofing contractor also will void any warranties that you may otherwise be able to take advantage of! But – if you want to do something yourself, check out our blog post for roof maintenance or DIY tips for roofing your home.

Yes! The experts at AMRG have years of experience assisting homeowners with their insurance claims and restoring their homes in the aftermath of storms or other damage.

Yes! Our entire crew are well trained and fully insured to protect our consumers.

In most situations, we will have the roofing materials brought to your home on the day we start your roofing project. We will load the shingles onto your roof using a crane, but may need to place them on the ground in situations where a roof’s pitch is too steep, or nearby trees and power lines. We will always make sure we are doing things the safest way possible!

There is a minimal chance that debris may get inside your home while we are working on a restoration of the outer part of the home. We do our best to prevent this, but as a precaution, it’s smart to consider covering items that you are concerned about. It’s also important to keep in mind that keeping all windows closed during the process will help mitigate the chance of debris entering the home.

Ashton McGee Restoration Group will remove and clear out any debris from your gutters that is the result of the work we’ve done on your home. However, a thorough gutter cleaning including debris that was in the gutter prior to our project will not be removed. We do offer gutter maintenance services and would be happy to do that as a separate service, though!

We are able to temporarily remove your satellite dish when we begin the job. We will replace it after the job is complete. In most cases, the satellite signal returns with no further assistance.

Ashton McGee Restoration Group will usually place a dumpster on your driveway, using blocks of wood underneath to protect the driveway’s surface.

We discourage clients from using the driveway as much as possible until we are finished with the job. This allows our crew to work quickly and safely, and it also keeps you and your family safe during the restoration process.

It is not required that you be home during any work we do on your roof. However, if you plan on being home during this time, we do ask that you limit the amount of time you are outdoors on the property as debris may fall and we want to protect you and your family!

In the event we happen upon some damaged or rotted wood on your old roof, we will secure your roof to make sure that it is up to our safety standards. We will provide you with photos of the issue and add a charge at an hourly rate plus the cost of materials. The integrity of your roof is the key objective when installing a new roof.

We all know that things like weather, illness, and other unexpected situations can’t be helped, but there’s no need to hit the panic button. Our focus shifts immediately to rescheduling your project with as little inconvenience to you as possible. Your project coordinator assigned to your restoration job will reach out to you ASAP to get a reschedule date on the books for the soonest available date.

A final invoice will be sent to you via email or mail. If your project was a complete roof replacement, you may meet with your estimator where you will be given any warranties & lien waivers in exchange for final payment for the project.

We gladly accept most forms of payment – cash, personal check, and most major credit cards. We also work with insurance companies and have financing options available.
